The door's locked. The job you came to do still exists.

If you searched for a GloriaFood demo, download, or sign-up: it's closed. GloriaFood stopped accepting new restaurants in early 2025, and Oracle shuts the entire platform down on 30 April 2027. There's no waiting list and no successor. But the thing you came looking for — online ordering for your restaurant without a monthly software bill — still exists. Here's the honest version of what's available now.

What happened to GloriaFood?

Oracle acquired GloriaFood in June 2021. In early 2025 it confirmed the platform's end of life: new sign-ups closed, feature development stopped, and every product shuts down on 30 April 2027. The 123,000+ restaurants already on it are migrating elsewhere. Oracle is not building a replacement and won't recommend one.

What made GloriaFood worth searching for — and where that deal lives now

GloriaFood's pitch was real: online ordering on your own website, no commission to a marketplace, free to start, set up in minutes. If that's the job you need done, the question is which platform now does it without the catch. The candidates with no monthly fee:

PlatformWhat free actually meansWatch for
Storekit£0/month, full product — you pay 3.9% + 20p per order, only when you sellUK/EU-focused; strongest for takeaway and dine-in QR ordering
Square OnlineNo monthly fee for ordering; 2.9% + 30¢ per transactionWorks best inside the Square POS ecosystem — adopting it just for ordering is a big swap
CloudWaitressFree plan with limitations; paid all-in-one above itSelf-serve setup; less hand-holding

GloriaFood's own free tier, for comparison, was free for pickup orders — but card payments cost $29/month, the website $9, and marketing $19, so a working setup typically ran $29–136/month. "No monthly fee" platforms charge per order instead. For a restaurant doing real volume, do the maths both ways before deciding — the pricing calculator takes thirty seconds.

How to choose quickly

  • You want direct ordering on your own site, UK or Europe, minimal setupstart with Storekit; your menu can be live the same day
  • You already run Square POS — use Square Online and keep everything in one system
  • You're outside Storekit's patch and want a free plan to tinker with — try CloudWaitress
  • You want a managed service and accept a monthly bill — look at Flipdish (~$79–199/month, no free tier)

Frequently asked questions

Can I still sign up for GloriaFood?

No. Closed to new restaurants since early 2025; the platform shuts down entirely on 30 April 2027.

Why is it closing?

Oracle confirmed end of life for every GloriaFood product. There's no replacement and no recommended successor.

What's closest to the free plan?

No-monthly-fee platforms: Storekit (£0/month, pay per order), Square Online (per-transaction), CloudWaitress (limited free plan).

You didn't want GloriaFood. You wanted orders on your own site without renting them back from a marketplace. That's still on the table.
