GloriaFood's branded app module ($59/month) gives your restaurant native iOS and Android apps — but the apps are a front end for GloriaFood's ordering back end, and Oracle shuts that back end down entirely on 30 April 2027. Whatever happens to the icon on your guests' phones, the ordering inside it stops. The work is moving your app guests to a new way of ordering before that happens.
What's certain, and what isn't?
- Certain: in-app ordering stops. The servers the app talks to are being switched off. No back end, no orders.
- Certain: the push-notification channel goes with it. The marketing value of the app — a direct line to repeat guests — ends when the platform does.
- Not publicly documented: what happens to the listings. Oracle hasn't published guidance on whether app store listings are removed or simply stop functioning. Worth checking now: whose developer account is your app actually published under? If it isn't yours, the listing's fate isn't in your hands.
Your app guests are the asset — not the app
The app was always a wrapper around something more valuable: a set of guests who order directly and repeatedly. That asset survives the shutdown if you act while the data is still exportable:

- Tell your app guests where ordering moves to, while the app still opens and the push channel still works
- Put the new ordering link everywhere the app icon used to do the work: Google Business Profile, Instagram bio, table QR codes
Do you actually need another native app?
